TRUMP ANTIDOTE CAFE

The internet is an extremely powerful communication and data retrieval system. Unfortunately, as with any system, the internet can be used to advance civilization or to advance the selfish interests of individuals.

The Antidote Cafe provides in one place some fact-based antidotes to the misinformation, disinformation, and outright lies that helped install our current president and are being used to maintain and exercise the most selfish abuse of power in the history of our country. The current president is the symptom but the pervasive underlying abuse is the corruption resulting from unchecked economic power in the hands of a few guided only by the principal of more power and money for the few is the only good.

This site draws heavily from the work of others. My objective is to help our patrons easily find at one location information that already exists but might take more time and work to track down than our patrons have available.

Feel free to look for a specific antidote to a specific abuse or just browse and arm yourself with antidotes for future use.

Enjoy!!

Lies My President Told

Me

The Washington Post periodically publishes a tally of Trump's half-truths and lies since he assumed office and as of 4/3/20, the total was 18,000.

One serious problem with the pervasiveness of Trump's lies and half-truths is that some are far more important than others as discussed in "The Absurd Futility of Fact-Checking Trump".

Robert Reich provides a wealth of voter education information that is easy to view and understand. His video "Trump's Thirty Biggest Broken Promises" is one useful attempt to sort the endless nonsense

 into meaningful piles.

Fact-Checking

Made Easy

If it doesn't sound, look, or smell right then it probably isn't. Here are my favorite sites that provide analyses of dubious claims.

Trump Good For The Economy - Not So Much

I have made maximum use of existing data bases and anlyses to examine the following indicators of our economy's health:

Conclusion: Trump has not been good or bad for the economy to date. Our economic health has seen an upward trend since beginning our recovery from "the great recession" in 2009.

The effects of the Tax Cut for the Rich and Twitter fed tariffs will be adverse but the extent is yet to be determined. However, possible impacts are discussed in the postscript.
